General Information on Bali
Please remember that although Bali is an amazing country it is also a 3rd world country.
Drinking water
The tap water in Bali isn't recommended for drinking, so avoid it and stick to sealed bottled water. That includes steering clear of more than you might think, including ice in drinks, brushing your teeth with tap water, ingesting water in the shower, and food that has been washed in tap water.
If you are unfortunately hit with ‘Bali belly’ we have known people to get a doctor to come in and give them the anti sickness jab ( you should feel better 12 hours or so after).
Rest assured that hotels and restaurants are pretty safe as they do use filter water but of course be cautious of water and ice
Visa at the airport
A visa is required when you arrive in Bali and this can be done either online before you travel or upon arrival before heading through passport control. You can apply at least 48 hours before your travel to Indonesia, via this link - Visa
If you're buying your visa upon arrive this needs to be paid in cash and is IDR 500.000 per person (applies to adults and children). This can also be paid in Aus dollars and British pounds.
